Hi Matt:

I just tested it and get the same result.  The URL given for the download is
not valid.  I also see that ncl does not have a maintainer  (fink describe
ncl), so it may be out of date.  The binaries available from NCAR work fine,
and registering is straightforward.  I would suggest that route if some one
needs it.

NCL is a scripting language for doing complex graphics built on top of the
NCAR Graphics Library.  One of its benefits is it can read a lot of the more
common scientific data formats, so data input is simple.
