The license situation is confusing here. The website requires 
registering/etc in order to get the files, but the licensing describes 
itself as Apache-like and explicitly does allow redistribution in terms 
compatible with the fink package-manager model. That means someone 
could agree to the license and then redistribute it for us. They do not 
seem to have the old version that fink has (as you note, no maintainer, 
so nobody's stepped up to keep this package viable--volunteers 
welcome!), so the package description would need to be updated.
