This is interesting information. One has to see whether the 32bit MacTeX
distribution works without conflict on a 64bit Fink installation. Or
does there exist a 64bit TeXlive distribution? I remember having seen an
announcement of such a thing, but does it really exist, and is it
something that can be expected to be installed on Lion, for example? If
yes, the system-texlive package would have to test whether the 64bit
version is installed and act accordingly.

If the 32bit MacTeX distribution is acceptable on 64bit Fink, then the
"Architecture:" field can be scrapped.

There are other questions, for example: How does this interact with the
libkpathsea{4,6} packages and those packages that depend on them?

Also, there probably ought to be a longer Provides list, in order to
replace Fink's texlive and texlive-texmf packages completely.
