First annotation:

The (edited) line

        Architecture: powerpc, i386, x86_64

will need corrections! I think it sets %m (or does Fink set the value for the
macro?) which is used a few times. For example here:

        echo "append_path PATH /usr/local/texlive/%v/bin/%m-darwin " > %n.csh

or here:

          for file in texmf-dist/tex/latex/base/latex.ltx \
               bin/%m-darwin/mktexlsr bin/%m-darwin/dvipdfm \
               bin/%m-darwin/pdftex bin/%m-darwin/jadetex \
               texmf/web2c/texmf.cnf; do

This *is* faulty. AFAIK TeX Live did not provide i386-darwin or powerpc-darwin.
It was combined as "universal-darwin". Later "x86_64-darwin" was added. (I'm
not sure whether PowerPC 64-bit, i.e., ppc640 support ever existed.)

With the following file it worked to build with modified local INFO files
latex2html and dblatex:

DescDetail: <<
Install this package if you have installed TeX Live separately from Fink,
for example, from the TeX Collection. The package checks to see if you have
a valid installation of TeX Live %v in /usr/local/texlive/%v.

Because of the complicated interaction between the TeX Live distribution and
Fink, if you need to update this package or to switch between system-texlive
and the Fink teTeX packages tetex-texmf and tetex-base, you must first remove
all packages which depend on tetex-base, such as latex2html. You
can reinstall them after the update.
<<

DescPackaging: <<
We put /usr/local/texlive/%v/bin/universal-darwin at the end of the user's path
to ensure that Fink's install-info is used rather than the install-info found
in the TeX Live distribution. We also add /usr/local/texlive/%v/texmf/doc/man
to the MANPATH (which is set in init.(c)sh prior to loading the system-texlive
 profile script).
<<

There must be some easier means to express a dependency like that:

        <some TeX distribution package> | system-texlive-2008 |
system-texlive-2009 | system-texlive-2010 | system-texlive-2011

I'm going to try the other TeX Live distributions!
