The output is different because I grabbed Terence's, which was on 10.7, and modified the machine string--10.7 and 10.6 use different compilers so there are details in the wording which change. I wouldn't necessarily blame "unstable", since packages there are, if anything, better tested than in "stable". We're actually in the process of consolidating everything into "stable".
