Übergeek, fink builds are easily contaminated by foreign header files
and others in /usr/local. Try this:

For future reference, you might get quicker response if you send the
relevant part of the log directly in the body of the email as opposed to
sending a long attachment. In this particular case, the relevant part starts
with "fink-package-precedence --prohibit-bdep=libxml2 ." on line 1402. The
first fourteen hundred lines are normal output of a build. Also, you mention
irssi in the subject line, but libxml2 is the actual package that failed to
build. Having the problematic package name in the subject line ensures that
the maintainer of that package really reads your email.
