Well, on looking at the code (src/gnuplot_def.lisp) I see that that's
the default terminal command for Gnuplot, which is emitted if there is
no terminal specified. It's a bug that the default doesn't work on a
platform where it used to work. If you have time, can you please enter
a bug report: http://sourceforge.net/p/maxima/bugs
You have to create a SF account in order to enter a report (sorry, it's
