Hi Finnix users and dev(s)!

I was very happy to find finnix as I needed a PPC Linux-based rescue
cd and Finnix is almost exactly what I wanted 'cept it currently lacks
a few packages I deem vital for such a disc to be complete:

hfsprogs, hfsplus and hfsutils - I'd like hfsprogs at the bare minimum
so I'd have mkfs.hfs which I need to do some testing for fsarchiver...

fsarchiver - This is a central admin tool for me and one of the main
reasons I make so much heavy use of systemrescuecd simply because it
has this on it. I am volunteering to do some testing (using the next
finnix hopefully) for this project so that it can have hfs+ support
added to it but first I need a PPC live CD with both rsync and
mkfs.hfs on it.

I realise partimage is already on finnix but fsarchiver supports many
more filesystems and can also restore a fs onto a HD smaller than the
source HD (the big limitation of partimage) as well as restore onto a
different fs. I've had other probs with partimage and so only use
fsarchiver now.

testdisk - This is the other golden admin tool (apart from ssh and
fsarchiver of course!) missing from finnix. I use this mainly to
undelete files which its very good at.

p7zip-full

rar and unrar

clamav

Those are the main missing ones and all I can think of for now BUT..

I'd also really like to see X included on the disc alongside Iceweasel
(mainly for configuring routers but also to browse the web for help
and view docs) and to make it really worth your while of including X
you should also include a good pdf reader and good RDP and VNC
clients.

Thanks for the cool distro and especially for supporting PPC!

Dan
