The computer is a Lenovo ThinkPad E530. > I can only think of something not kicking in after initramfs, but that > would mean nobody would be able to see usb devices after boot. > > I guess a dmesg output would probably have all the information needed. > Do older versions work? > dmesg doesn't mention the usb-sticks either, it does however mention both the fingerprint scanner, the integrated camere and a few hubs, but no usb-storage devices. lsmod mentions amongst other things that both usbhid, usb_storage, usbcore, usb_common, ehci_hcd, ehci_pci, and scsi_mod are loaded... which is more usb-related modules than my normal desktop loads. -- Peder Stray
