Yes, we understand that, but it probably won't change.

The easiest way to do this is to open the buddy inspector window (double
click in the setup tab) and then select a new group for the buddy from
the group popup.

Import and export are experiencing bit rot. No one has touched that
code in a LONG time and it was only guaranteed to work with far older
versions of AIM than current.
