Another reason would be your Fire Preferences - 0.27 uses the mirabilis
server for ICQ and 0.28 uses the TOC server. If you got ICQ autologin
enabled, it'll crash when it tries to login to ICQ.
hack ~/Library/Preferences/Fire.plist to set ICQAutoLoginEnabled to 0, or
zapping the file altogether might solve your problem.
