Is there any output in Console.app when this happens?  It seems that 
some people are ending up with a mismatched AOL bundle and Fire 
application.  I don't know how this is happening.  Did you delete 
Fire.app before trying to install the new one?

http://www.epicware.com/Downloads always contains the most recent and a 
revision or two back.
