This is happening to me too with TOT builds and 0.29a under these
conditions:

Launch Fire with AIM set to auto-login
Open services window and disconnect from AIM
>From services menu, reconnect to AIM

Result= 29-30 warning messages appear on the screen after a minute of the
spinner color wheel and I become blocked from the service for at least 45
minutes to an hour.

I've also noticed that "unchecking" the auto-login feature for the AIM
service doesn't accomplish this, if you quit Fire and re-launch it, you'll
get connected to AIM at startup even though the auto-login feature is
disabled.
