Hi Eric
I tried to see if maybe it was my pref settings that was causing it. I
deleted my prefs from ~/library/preferences/ and started again. Fire
launched with just usual first run windows. I then went to preferences
and opened the Profile pref pane. It opens without any problems. Next
i select the 3rd option "as" and type "Me :o)..." in the text field.
close the preferences and quit fire. I have made NO other changes to
the default pref's at this point. After i launch fire again the profile
pref pane will not open. I don't have GPG installed as i have no need
for it at present, could that be the problem? I remember reading
something about that in the "what's new" in the updated fire help files.
oh BTW i don't build my own version of fire. I don't have developer
tools so i get the "Take Away" version from homepage.mac.com/dluke/ but
i do have the latest build available there.
Thanks for your help anyway... i will look into deleting all fire
related files and starting again from fresh.
