Trouble is, I think it's new connections that have a problem. I was also 
online all day at work, but when I came home and tried to connect, Fire 
couldn't connect.

This is similar to what happened on one of the previous occasions when AIM 
"stopped working." Existing connections were fine; new ones just didn't 
happen.

I'll hope it's a temporary situation that someone at AOL notices and fixes 
overnight, and all's back to normal tomorrow!
