Oh, there were even more.  There were networking modules for DECnet (at 
list one, maybe one each to VMS and Ultrix), Apollo Domain, and, I 
believe, another even more losing Windows networking systems.

Things would have been much, much better with a common abstract base 
class, but C++ hadn't been invented yet.
