Better just x64 - Intel 64 associates with ia64.
Maybe, I'm not sure, on the other hand, Intel 64 is the official
marketing name Intel itself uses for the x86-64 instruction set (since
2006).
Our first binary package for this architecture (fb2.0 beta1) was
published in 2005. And first chipsets, supporting it, were produced by
AMD. I can add (looking at your post) that Intel's marketting after it
was more efficient than developed by Intel 64-bit CPUs :-)
The history is quite clear to me, but that doesn't change the fact that
we can at least change the labeling on the website in an attempt to at
least reduce confusion, right?
And in that case, using the terminology used by the manufacturer itself
might be preferable than using yet another name.
