OK. That seems to be supported by the ICU documentation.
There probably should thus be a firebird-tzdata package as part of the
set of (deb/rpm) Firebird packages containing the latest tzdata files.
It should then be easy enough for the package maintainer to roll out
updates to the time zone database through the usual channels. However,
Windows is still a problem.
