There is no direct relationship between versionnumbers of Firebird and its
driver. Most likely the 2.7.x will allow you to contact to anything from
Firebird 1.0 upto Firebird 3.0. Forcing a (notional) tight link between
versionnumbers of the driver and of the Firebird server could actually
result in people using an outdated version of the driver because they use
an older version of Firebird.
