Thanks Kjell.

My preference is to type SQL in a CLI environment. It's good to know of the
free form SQL in FR but it's still not as fast (for me) as doing it in a
console / terminal. To "just open a query window" still looks to me like a
superfluous step.

But each to their own preference.
