the problem is indeed fixed!! thanks jjb.

however, there still remains a difference that i think was integral.
say i was browsing, pressed CtrlShiftC to highlight an element. i saw
that element, etc, and wanted to continue browsing, i could push Esc a
couple of times and Firebug would close on its own. now i have to
click F12 to close it. not a huge deal at all, but is there a reason
this was changed?
