Hi, since firebug came out it has made my life so much easier, a big thanks for that! With the recent updates I've seen two things that had me raise my eyebrow..
In UI design the top left and top right corners are "worth more" in screen real estate than other places. Typically you'd want to put actions there that are used most often. Firebug nailed it by putting the inspect action left and the X for closing firefox to the right. So whats up with the latest ui updates? Putting a menu in the left hotspot and putting "turn off firebug for this site" in the right hotspot??!! I understand the troubles of positioning the menu.. its a tough one to place properly. But making the X perform nonstandard behaviour is bad imho. x=close .. everywhere.. its what people expect.. close is used about 50-500 times a day by me, depending on how much work I do on html/css.. "deactive firebug for this site" is used about once every month by me.. on rare occasions Why would anyone choose to give the rarely used option a more prominent position while the more commonly used option is given a non- standard, harder to click position? I'm not trying to criticize though.. to everyone who has contributed to this amazing extension, thanks a lot! I know ui dev is not easy, and its hard to please everyone. ...But please, think about it. --~--~---------~--~----~------------~-------~--~----~ You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "Firebug" group.
