Firebug team does not do anything about installation other than
package Firebug according to the guidelines for extension
installation. The packaging has not changed for at least a year.
The only difference between 1.4.2 and 1.4.3 is the use of file to
store the page activation records rather than a Firefox database. I
guess your machine or its software may have changed between 1.4.2 and
1.4.3,
You need to ask Firefox support about installation problems.
