I have the same problem here but with with Firebug 1.7 release version
and Firefox 4.
I update Firefox an hour ago, and now when I have a open Firebug
session,
 switching between open browser tabs takes 5 seconds. Loading a new
page takes
30+ seconds.
Closing Firebug and Firefox will be fast again.
