I have liked the PIX and, more importantly IMHO, I have LOVED the tech
support. Cisco is the only company whose tech support has consistently
correct and rapid responses.

YMMV

Morning!

(For those of y'all EST and west, that is :-)

We're evaluating the hardware appliance firewalls, and have narrowed the
selection down somewhat, though this list will probably change in the
next few days. Currently in the running are

        CISCO PIX
        TECHNOLOGIC INTERCEPTOR
        WATCHGUARD FIREBOX

I'd like to get VERY subjective opinions on these boxes: do you hate
them, love them, couldn't care one way or the other? Any appliances that
I should consider other than those here?

Our need is for, in addition to stateful inspection | packet filtering,
some sort of authentication and VPN that will support primarily MacOS
clients, with a smattering of Win9X/NT, and *n*x. We would like to be
able to run application proxies on the firewall, though may not do so
initially.

So, thoughts?
