| I agree that security shouldn't be "weighted" in a mix with unrelated factors. Part of the "Windows Rhetoric" (my term) is that anyone should be able to admin anything with minimal training. Those of you who really know NT know that this is crap. Any decently complex OS takes time to learn, and expertise to run properly. The same is true with serious security solutions, for basically the same reasons. A good user interface is important. If the UI is incomprehensible, stupid mistakes result. However, I feel that many of the trade mags (and the reviews that are the subject of this thread) are aimed at the management types whose primary goal is to reduce costs while increasing productivity,thus the ratings represent many factors other than security. This is not to say that they are useless, just that they should be taken in context. Time spent learning a more complex tool may pay for itself many times over if the end result keeps the bad guys out.
