I got the impression from the license in one of the BorderManager
manuals that Novell's FastCache (the cache included in BorderManager) was
in fact a ported and licensed version of the freely available Squid[1]
cache. It's a subtle point, at best; Squid is an outgrowth of the Harvest
project.
It's certainly true that Squid and FastCache are both awesomely
fast.
