When I saw the Subject of this message I went nuts!
Was this some sort of "universal" problem ?? I am in Athens, Greece and I
had exactly the same problem this morning. A client of ours was
complaining that his mail server (Linux machine) timed out while
delivering mail to its clients. I was trying to find out what was going
wrong (the network, pop3 and smtp were working perfectly) when suddenly
the maillog started spitting all these error messages! It was a surprise
for me since the internal IPs ARE 10.x.x.x (and that's according to
rfc1918 as far as I know)...
When we finally realised that it was probably a name service
problem everything started working normal....out of the blue...I told our
client to look into his internal DNS, maybe the problem originated from
there.
Now that you guys have helped out with this problem, I'll call him
tomorrow and tell him what to do.
You are all GREAT !!!
Thanks
