I agree with your sentiments, but wasn't spiff just posting the article as
extracted from www.hackernews.com to explain why the original site had
disappeared ?

I must be confused here. Isn't this supposed to be a technical forum?
It should not be a forum to air personal grievances. The IETF mail list
just went through something similar, resulting in several subscribers
dropping themselves from the address list and the creation of a
technically focused mail group.
