IMHO, unbind all protocols except for TCP/IP on the cable modem NIC
regardless of OS (NT, 95, 98).  If you need to fileshare then setup
a VPN solution with the other site(s).  There are routers available
for the home office / LAN to help solve some of the SMB/NETBEUI/
promiscuous mode problems too.
