Hey ya'll :) Recently I read a post here in the Firewalls list for which I desperately need a follow up. The post declared there was a new Federal(?) mandate that router Banner's must include a statement which warns of the illegality of unauthorized access to the device. This would be needed in order to be able to prosecute a hacker for illegally gaining access to the device. Does anyone remember that post? Can somebody lead me to the source ... or to a point where I can 1) get confirmation that such a requirement now exists...and 2) specifically what is needed in the MOTD to fulfill this requirement? The reason I'm in a bit of a hurry (isn't everyone these days?) is that we are about to deploy a massive infrastructure IOS upgrade and we will be accessing several hundred routers in the next weeks - and I'd sure love to get this issue into the goop along with it. I invite any respondents to post here in the lists...however, I'd sincerely appreciate any concrete input be cc'd directly to my email address to ensure I get it at earliest. Thanx ... :D Larry Brumfield Network Engineer Network Solutions, Inc. - [To unsubscribe, send mail to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with "unsubscribe firewalls" in the body of the message.]
