I never had "this problem" (anyway I always configured SB on Solaris or NT)
in version 3 you have new functionality, first of all  a better test
subsystem
and "load sharing".
You can update from v2 to v3 without any downtime (I did it with solaris, I
hope
someone else could assure you for AIX)
