For Information only on the Checkpoint/Nokia solution:

I have recently finished a VPN project here at my company dealing with the
Checkpoint VPN "Appliance". This Appliance is a Nokia router with the
Checkpoint Software installed. I have a normal Checkpoint Encryption Center
installed at Headquarters. Then in my two remote offices I have installed and
configured the Appliance in each remote location.

The appliance runs on Nokias own Operating System. This was a bit difficult to
get around with. But I guess if you know UNIX you can do okay. In one location
we did experience a problem (which later learned was the CSU not the Appliance).
We tried using the Support options. We first called Checkpoint. Since it
looked like a router issue, not a firewall issue. They then referred us to
Nokia Support. So we where dealing with both Support teams to overcome the
problem.

Overall the Checkpoint/Nokia Appliance is a good solution for small remote
offices. Even the Support was good.
