Yes, there are those who wonder if I'm stupid to not submit the question anonymously. However, I understood the risk before submitting the message. If, in addition to receiving some great advice, the price to pay was the inconvenience of recovering of a hammered HTTP server, the event would cause enough stir to make my security concerns genuine to those who disregard them (But please, don't do me any favors: I'm a local government employee in a small municipality in Calif.with plenty to do even without the security debates with management). I've since tightened up our Internet gateway and HTTP server.
