That is a loaded question since you fail to mention the particular
firewall software you have selected. Also not indicated in your post is
the operating system that the firewall software will reside on. The last
part of your post also does not include the manufacturer of the hardware
you have considered.
Load sharing, and redundancy will depend on the firewall software
selected, the operating system selected, the hardware selected, and the
amount of trickery/imagination you interject into your security
architecture in order to achieve a viable load sharing and redundancy
solution.
A firewall farm is a little more complex than Web Host Farms. At least
with Web Host farms, losing a web site is not as bad as losing a firewall,
or any line of defenses integrated in a well designed security
architecture.
