There were some problems with the older versions of MS-DNS, that are
(supposedly) sorted out in the later service packs.
I used to use BIND NT before (4.9.7, I think). Switched to MS-DNS post-SP3
and it's been running trouble-free since. Well, at least until today :-).
There wasn't any noticeable performance difference between the two that was
readily apparent.
Anyway, I'm not really interested in turning this into some OS war or
discussion on which DNS is better or worse. I copied the message to this
list because I thought the pattern of increasing IPs in the log file looked
a little suspicious - and perhaps some of the "security gurus" on the list
might've seen something similar and were in a position to offer advice.
