As posted earlier, we use Web Sweeper from www.mimesweeper.com It
successfully stops our users from sending attachments from web based email
programs such as hotmail. Also it will check the content, and if dubious,
again we disallow them from send email via web based programs (not smtp,
although mail sweeper from the same people will check the content of smtp
mail)

The replies I've seen so far appear to misunderstand the question, as far as
I can tell. The original question, if I read it correctly, is -- Suppose we
have a user with a webmail account (Hotmail, yahoo, mail.com, etc). They
can, of course, access the account because we allow HTTP traffic. How can
we prevent them from sending attachments out through that web based service,
thereby bypassing our internal SMTP servers?
In other words, how do you stop someone from sending things out via a mail
mechanism which the company does not control?
