I've had a few occasions to talk to people who wanted us to use their remote
hosting facilities and services. Any questions reguarding security are
answered with "we can't tell you, but trust us, we know what is best for
you". That is when they give answers at all. Usually I get "I'll get back
to you", and they never do.

This, at least, I can agree with - I was actually trying to point out that
the crack wasn't actually a sign their software was at fault, which was the
original post in this thread was implying. I don't suppose we'll ever
actually know who made the remote hosting decision, but I have a definite
suspicion that somewhere, a security bod at NAI is saying "I told you so."
If there isn't, then whoever it is wasn't doing their job.

Perhaps I'm biased, but I've never spoken to a security professional who
liked the idea of remote hosting. Does anyone on this list feel otherwise?
