Ragu,
At the risk of sounding simple, have you tried reinstalling your eval
license and ditching the perm license? If the problem goes away then I
would suspect a problem with the perm license. When 4.1 SP0 first came out
CP's license generator was having serious problems and kicking out licenses
that didn't work (sometimes not correctly, sometimes not at all). These
problems have been fixed but its not impossible that it could be a license
problem. The red flag goes up when you talk about the problem starting
right after the perm license was installed. Of course, you should be
running the same perm license for SP1 and that appears to be working fine
for you. Did you do the upgrade, license change, and IP address change all
at the same time?
How did you do the upgrade from SP1 to SP2? Did you encounter any errors
during the upgrade process? You mentioned that the FW and management
station are on the same box so it can't be a problem with the FW module
being a more advanced version of FW-1 than the management station.
There is an option for turning on debugging when you load a policy from the
command line. You can use the "fw load -d ...." or "fw fetch -d ...."
commands to install a policy on the FW and it will spit out a long detailed
list of the entire conversation between the management station and the FW.
Once again, since your box is all-in-one I don't know how well this will
work, if at all, but its worth looking into. If it does work then you can
review the debug output to see if any errors in the process occur. This
might point you to what's causing the error.
What problems with SecuRemote and SP2 have you heard about? Just curious as
I haven't heard about any problems with that combo. Hope this helps.
