Check out products from Lucent, 3com or Cisco. All of their High End
Remote Access product have this ability and also have the ability to
provide the user with a little software modem emulator for both inbound and
outbound calling

Hello there guys and gals, gurus of the world :)
Do any of you guys knows of any piece of hardware with RAS capabilities but
with
the nice feature that instead of receiving calls, it initiates the calls to the
outside and establishes PPP connections with remote locations? As a security
meassure we are now looking for a solution that would allow us to be the
ones to
initiate calls to authorized remote users instead of them calling us (which is
basically the difference from the traditional call-receiving RAS boxes out
there). My apologies if this is not related at all to security but since I see
so much wisdom in here ... (although we are doing this for security reasons,
because we want to have full control of when and how long the calls take
place).
Thanks beforehand for any pointers of feedback. Regards,
Don Juan
