there are way too many exploits for older redhat boxen for you to
effectively "protest" against an able adversary

read the IPCHAINS-HOWTO, while you are at, read the other HOWTO's as well,
there is no substitute for reading them, none

step 1: /etc/rc.d/init.d/sendmail stop
step 2: ipchains -I input -i ppp+ -s 0/0 -d 0/0 25 -p DENY
no more mails ;)
