This might be true but my experience is that it is better to
use a properly patched and upgraded 6.1 than a 7.1.
New distros often have other problems unrelated to security.
I find 6.1 with all patches/upgrades applied to be very stable and
also as secure as can be at least if one relies on security advisories
issued for the distro.
