Frank, if you REALLY and I mean REALLY need to run a firewall on a windows platform I would try it on windows 2000. Although it's a bigger OS, more code, more potential (or already) security holes, it's (in my opinion) a lot more stable then good old NT.
Windows 2000 have also and can also have a lot more support for hardware / software in the near future... And M$ stops supporting NT in building service packs and all that stuff... Just my thoughts, Regards, Brenno > -----Original Message----- > From: Frank Sommer [SMTP:[EMAIL PROTECTED]] > Sent: donderdag 4 oktober 2001 12:05 > To: Firewall-Mailing-Liste > Subject: Next Microsoft operating system for firewalls? > > Hello group members, > > can anyone of you tell me what will likely be the next (Microsoft-based) > platform for firewall systems (the successor of Windows NT)? > > I wouldnt like to start a new discussion about what is the better > operating systems for a firewall, I just want to know your opinion > regarding the successor of Windows NT as a firewall-platform. > > Thanks for Your answers in advance! > > Frank Sommer > _______________________________________________________________________ > 1.000.000 DM gewinnen - kostenlos tippen - http://millionenklick.web.de > [EMAIL PROTECTED], 8MB Speicher, Verschluesselung - http://freemail.web.de > > > _______________________________________________ > Firewalls mailing list > [EMAIL PROTECTED] > http://lists.gnac.net/mailman/listinfo/firewalls _______________________________________________ Firewalls mailing list [EMAIL PROTECTED] http://lists.gnac.net/mailman/listinfo/firewalls
