Well, now you've gone and made me mad. In actual fact, the WinCE Operating system (version 3, commonly known as Pocket PC) already HAS a TCP/IP stack built in. In fact, I use it every day.
Not only that, but the Palm operating system, PalmOS also has a TCP/IP stack built in as well. So I guess, you could use either one for a firewall... :-) Dan > -----Original Message----- > From: Bernd Eckenfels [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]] > On Thu, Oct 04, 2001 at 12:04:54PM +0200, Frank Sommer wrote: > > I wouldn?t like to start a new discussion about what is the > better operating systems for a firewall, I just want to know > your opinion regarding the successor of Windows NT as a > firewall-platform. > > Besides beeing immature (in terms of experience) Windows 2000 > and XP are not > better nor worse for firewalls than NT is. > > Personylly I think WindowsCE would be better suited, but I > guess it makes > firewall development more expensive because of the need to > add an IP-Stack > :) > _______________________________________________ Firewalls mailing list [EMAIL PROTECTED] http://lists.gnac.net/mailman/listinfo/firewalls
