I do not agree. There is a difference between port redirection and IP forwarding. In the first case you redirect a port to another on the same IP adress (there is no routing decision necessary), in the latter you want to forward incoming traffic to the same port on a different machine - so you have to route packets. > Martin Peikert writes: > >> Scott Adamson wrote: >> ---8<--- >> >>> #/sbin/modprobe ip_conntrack >> >> ---8<--- >> > #/sbin/modprobe iptable_nat >> ---8<--- >> From Robert Ziegler's Book, page 278: >> "Connection Tracking and NAT automatically reverse the translation for >> packets returning from the server." >> Since the RH kernel is modular (IIRC) you need to insmod/modprobe at >> least those two... >> HTH >> GTi >> _______________________________________________ >> Firewalls mailing list >> [EMAIL PROTECTED] >> http://lists.gnac.net/mailman/listinfo/firewalls GTi P.S.: It is really annoying that you write your answer (to what? My mail? Scott's?) on the top. There's no way for others to find out to what line of my/Scott's mail your answer is related to. _______________________________________________ Firewalls mailing list [EMAIL PROTECTED] http://lists.gnac.net/mailman/listinfo/firewalls
