Vinod,

Windows Media Player uses TCP port 1755.  Allow this from your internal
network to the Internet and it will work.  As far as I know you cannot get
WIndows Media Player to use UDP.  If you want a product to use UDP try
RealPlayer.

hi there.i am new to this list and also a relative
newbie to firewalling.i have a very basic firwall,the
main function of which is masquearding.i have used
ipchains.
i am unable to play windows media from my internal
network on udp.it works on tcp.
in my rules i havent blocked any udp traffic out.so i
dont know what i can do to get my media player to
work.do i need to specially enable some ports?(i
havent blocked any so confused).
any help would be greatly appreciated.
