ok this is what i gotta do to let windows media player play udp thru my firewall. --------------------------------------------------- Streaming ASF with UDP Out: TCP on 1755 Out: UDP on 1755 In: UDP between port 1024-5000 (Only open the necessary number of ports.) ------------------------------------------------------
now how do i write the rules?i am new to this stuff so would appreciate someone telling me what going wrong. -A input -s 10.0.0.0/24 1024-5000 -p udp -j ACCEPT ...... ..... -A output -d 10.0.0.0/24 1755 -p udp -j ACCEPT -A output -d 10.0.0.0/24 1755 -p tcp -j ACCEPT The above is what have come up with and it doesnt allow me to use windows media on udp.so i am assuming i am doingsomething wrong.Can anyone pont this out to me.i dont care opening up all the ports as the main function of my firewall is masquerading.i just desperately need to play windows media on udp. thanks in advance.
