Our ISP, UUNet is proposing a "shadow T1" line to backup our existing T1.
This would involve a separate, dedicated telephone line routed to a different POP than our current POP (both POP's are located in California). The shadow line would support the same subnet of IP addresses we currently operate. The price for this shadow service is about 1/2 of our primary T1 monthly charge. I'm wondering if other folks on the firewall list have considered this or a similar redundancy configuration, and if they have found it to be valuable.
