Some firewalls allow you to filter http via MIME protocol (Raptor firewall does).
What you can do is look at your SQUID and put in filters for MIME.

Subject: Looking for Firewall

Hello, we worked with Linux like S.0., squid for Breaks, ipchains for rule
filter rules.

I work in the University, in the laboratory of computers we have problems,
because bandwidth the contracted International always is full. We want to
restict the use of the laboratory, we used ipchains for some things, but we
do not even solve the problem, we want that the students only can to
navigate, but cannot to download nothing, with squid we restricted that they
do not to download using FTP protocol, however they can download way HTTP
the MP3, video, etc.

Exists some Firewall that also allows to filter this type of downloads?

Thanks in Advanced,

Regards
