According to fish convention (borrowed from csh, but sometimes used on
Bourne shells as well), exported variables are in upper case,
unexported in lower case, so that should be $fish_version. Also, I
noticed that csh uses the name $version, so to keep compatibility with
at least one shell class, that might be a better choice. Other than
that, it sounds good to me.
